Welcome to the USS Altair web site! This site is dedicated
to the Officers' and Crew of the U.S.S. Altair AKS-32. Welcome aboard all sailors
who served aboard or sailed with the U.S.S. Altair. The Altair's motto
"ROMEO IS ALWAYS CLOSE UP" is a proud and honored motto that all her
shipmates' took pride in. Please send us your comments and memories. Thank you

Ivan Samuels has found the model of the USS Altair that was on display at the Supply Corps Museum in Athens, GA.
It is a 39 inch model stored at Naval Surface Warfare Center in Bethesda MD.
Maybe we can aquire it. Anyone knows the procedure?
2023
The reunion for 2023 will be held at the Sea Watch Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC from 6th to 10th of November.

The U.S.S. Altair AKS-32 had our third reunion at Grand Plaza, Brinson, Missouri.
It never fails, we can really throw a party. Thank you Dick Stader and your helpers for a great reunion. Branson was
a great choice.

2008
The U.S.S. Altair AKS-32 had our second reunion at the Courtyard By Marriott,
1000 Commons Blvd., Myrtle Beach, SC 29572.
It was again, a great success, and thanks to Tom and
his helpers, everyone had a great time.
Congratulations to reunion chairman Tom Planes for setting up such
a great reunion!

2007
The U.S.S. Altair AKS-32 held a mini reunion on the 27-28 of Oct 2007 with about 28 members present, to decide on when and where we are going to have the next BIG reunion.
2004
The U.S.S. Altair AKS-32 had our first reunion at the Marriott
Waterfront Hotel, Norfolk, VA May 13-15, 2004.
It was a resounding success and
all had a great time swapping tales, sea stories and visiting with each other.
Congratulations to reunion chairman Ira Rubin for setting up such a great reunion!
